And with everything else you have to plan for the festive season, year-end gifts are often the last thing on your mind.

Well, we’ve put together a list of great gifting ideas that you can easily create at home. They’re so easy to do, the kids can even get involved and help you get them done in a flash.

Christmas DIY gifting has never been this easy!

Any teacher will tell you: chocolate is probably the one thing that’s gotten them through a hectic year of Parent Teacher meetings, noisy kids and reams of mindless marking. If there’s one way to make it all worth it, chocolate is it!

Homemade nut clusters:

Stock up on your child’s teacher’s favourite nuts (like almonds or peanuts), enrobe them in chocolate or carob (for the health conscious teacher) for a thoughtful, homemade treat.

How to do it:

  • Place a decent quantity of nuts in a mixing bowl.
  • Melt chocolate / carob so that it’s smooth and runny, and mix in with nuts until they are completely coated.
  • Spoon small amounts onto a baking tray covered in wax paper and pop them into the fridge to set (make sure all nuts are closely packed together).
  • Once set, peel them off the tray, pop them into a cookie jar or similar container with a lid, and decorate with festive finishes in Christmas colours like ribbon, hessian or greenery.

Cranberry, sunflower seed and oat biscuits:

These biscuits aren’t only tasty, but they’re sugar-free with makes them healthy too. And guess what? Your local Montagu store is well-stocked with all of these great products.

Serving Suggestions:

  • You can use chopped apricots or pears instead of cranberries for a different flavour.
  • For a healthier option, you can drizzle them with dark chocolate or carob instead of white chocolate.
  • Display them in a pretty glass cookie jar with decorative finishes like ribbon and a festive tag.

These bars are the ultimate treat, especially for teachers who are watching their waistline. They’re high in energy and the goodness of almonds, cranberries and sunflower seeds. They don’t contain flour or refined sugar, making it a great snack for a healthy active lifestyle.

  • You can use Goji berries instead of cranberries for a different flavour.
